You can wait if you want. but containers don't mean nothing most all modern players play x264 avi , if yours don't you can download free remuxing software to change the container to mkv or mp4.

DHD done the scene release they only do 720p , mSD may do it latter. The scene may or may not do mp4 , if they do could be much latter.

AVI is wacky for X264. But you can just load it in MKVmergeGUI and make a proper MKV in about 45 seconds with no reencoding.
