Thank You

I'm not sure why they set the avg bitrate target so low, because clearly it wasn't set for a meaningful file size, but this doesn't look good at all and it's not the codec's fault

@d4ftcrunk
I think there are multiple encoders in RMT, contributing with their own style...

This wasn't encoded by rmteam.

Would make sense, but then all the "this is too big" comments begin.

I guess I prefer the middle Goldilocks principle... too hot, too cold, just right. Too small, too big, to me the old x265 RARBG, & now PSA rips are just right. But obviously that is subjective, & sometimes RM will have the only decent rip like that available, indeed. Seems like SWAXXON set an avg bitrate of 1000k, and it wasn't enough, though tbf I immediately deleted it when I saw the quality so I can no longer check the media info. AV1 is supposed to surpass HEVC one day, but this rip ain't it. JMO, but I was just thinking outload, didn't mean to start a reply thread, wasn't complaining, already had another rip. I like checking out new rips to see if there are any special features, RM oughta advertise it more when they do those, like include bonus commentary tracks and such. It's definitely better to have more choices than not enough, as so often in scn rls we're given potato quality 480p vs said 264 GIANT 1080p rips. 400 MB or 4+ GB as the only choices, ugh. So I appreciate the upload and more choices, even though it wasn't what I was looking for in the end. Cheers!

@Oscar2
Yes. RARBG = PSA
" But obviously that is subjective"

I looked at RARBG x265 encodes back in the day and found those were all 720x360 so not even true HD.

PSA is far superior, no question about it.

AV1 takes forever to encode. I'd never use AV1, I've got better things to do with my time. I don't think the uptick in quality would be worth it anyways.

I tried one of MeGusta's AV1 encodes. I wasn't impressed.

@Oscar

No. Sorry. I was thinking ION265. The ION265 encodes were about 720x400 SD x265 encodes. I remember that they did use multiple tags for their encodes. There was a tag like "RARBG", or something that, that would have been 720p or even 1080p encodes, I don't really remember, but they would have been huge download files. Since I wasn't able to play x265 back then, I sure wasn't going to download something that big.
I'm still thinking that RARBG and PSA are two separate sites that do (or did) encodes using x265.
PSA has been around for a long, long time. I don't think RARBG became PSA after RARBG closed down.
