Argus, I downloaded the original 720p copy of this from the Usenet just now and ran it through MediaInfo, which does indeed show seven (7) different subtitles, presumably being the various languages you mentioned in your post. Furthermore, the English version was the one that played by default in my player.

Maybe something went awry or was less than thorough with the RMTeam conversion. I don't know and, not being an anime fan, I probably won't try any more downloads of this, but I would think that, at a minimum, the original copies of this have all the subtitle languages you read about. The original 720p copy of it is about the same size as this 1080p RMTeam re-encode, if size is an issue.

Just trying to give you some additional data so you can make another choice if you want.

I did the same as BobDobbs only I downloaded the original ANiURL file from another source and then opened it in MKVToolNixGUI and there were about 7 or so sub files included in the .mkv in various languages with German being the first.

Is it possible that the RMZ method of reencoding as pertaining to subs selects only the first sub file if it's multi and discards the rest?

I doubt very much this is something that RMZ is doing to trick you or just for the LULZ.

If having the subs in Eng or whatever language you prefer is that important than why not download the original ANiURL release that way you can have what you need problem solved.

Ah, I see now that my player has a language preference for files with multiple subtitles, which explains its choosing English (EN) despite German (DE) being first in the list. I've never really needed to pay attention to that option/setting before now.

I suspect (but can't prove) that what N1C said is probably what happened: that the RMT re-encode process grabbed the first set of subtitles and then looked no further. Argus, the good news is that the original versions of the files are still easily obtained and should solve all your problems.
