Why use 10-bit source instead of normal scene source? Your encodes should be 8-bit.

10-bit content is HDR (High Dynamic Range). 8-bit is SDR (Standard Dynamic Range).

10-bit HDR is a great upgrade in bit depth which improves the picture quality (wider range of color, contrast, etc). 10-bit depth gives us 1.07 billion colors.

The next level up is Dolby Vision, which is 12-bit depth. This can show 68.7 billion colors. It also transmits meta-data about each frame from the source to the screen to make each frame appear exactly the way the director intended the scene to look. Contrast (e.g., lighting) looks more realistic that anything I've ever seen.

There are articles online about this for further reading and videos on YouTube that explain the advancement in technology. Many of the subscription services (e.g., AppleTV+, Netflix, etc) are producing content in HDR or Dolby Vision.

@Anonymouse, thank you for the Wikipedia lesson. I'm well aware about what 10-bit is and how it's different from 8-bit.

The problem is a lot of systems can't support 10-bit. And if you watch on PC, the difference between 10-bit and 8-bit is barely noticeable.

And if you want 10-bit so badly, go download UTR or assholes PSA.

@Openload I didn't mean to offend you. There is no need to be rude & hostile toward me. I was simply sharing information about the advancement in technology in a respectful manner toward you. I appreciate & enjoy the picture quality improvement of 10-bit HDR content. However, there are plenty of versions already available that are listed on here that are 8-bit SDR, for those who prefer it. What are those other sources? UTR or PSA? Time for you to give the lesson. (I simply request that you communicate with me with respect, but that's ultimately your choice.)

@Anonnymouse, I'm sorry for being rude. I'm not usually a rude person but lately RMTeam has just been getting on my nerves.

You see, unfortunately RMTeam is currently the only group on the internet that is still doing 1080p/720p x265 8-bit on a regular basis for all tv shows and movies. Other groups are either very unstable/irregular(crazy4tv) or have low quality(MeGusta). And alternative groups that encode 1080p/720p x264 are Pahe and GalaxyTV. Both are very low quality. So, we are back to RMTeam again for 1080p/720p x265 encodes that are 8-bit and have good quality(never too low bitrates). But the problem with RMTeam is it's mostly a bot. There is maybe one person doing all of this by setting a schedule and running a bot. The Admin that reuploaded here is a Rapidrar bot. That reuploads whenever a rapidrar link dies.

As for 10-bit, UTR is currently the most popular group for TV shows and movies. They release on 1337x. They have like 7-8 members so they cover a lots of stuff. You can also communicate with them and they are nice people. And the other one is PSArips. These guys do mostly 10-bit and 8-bit is rare from them. But the problem is they are a bunch of assholes who are rude to members.

It's hopeless to make any requests or point out errors.
Requests are never filled, mistakes are never fixed.

As "Openload" said, uploading and encoding is all by a bot
and whoever is running it gave up interacting with us long ago.
Comments here are just to communicate with other downloaders, maybe warn them away from a broken file.

The bot reloads Rapidrar because they earn money from that,
I believe it has the same owner.

@Openload Thanks so much for sharing the great info. You've opened my eyes to a lot. I went further down the rabbit hole and did some reading on reddit. I see that you're a veteran on this topic and I now, better understand your frustrations. I saw a few screenshots of the comments section on those other sites and wow, they are indecent assholes to their members. After reading that, I think I'll stick with the bots and 8-bit of RMTeam. lol

The best way to find out if you want 8bit or 10bit x265 720p or 1080p is to install GPUTemp (and CPUTemp if it exists) to monitor temperatures inside your laptop.

I played a 1280x720 Megusta of Gogglebox last night. It must have been a 10 or 12bit coz my GPU Temp ramped up to 95*C fast and when it reached 98, my laptop shut down. Then I installed a secondary fan which runs off USB and it kept the laptop at 85C.

I have a 2011 laptop.
