Can anyone explain what this "ISO" version is?

(I know what ISO usually means but how does it apply here? Mastered for BluRay players?)

Well thanks for your guesses but the questions still stands.

Obviously I was trying to avoid downloading just to find out - also I can't because it's offline...

But there are quite a few other such releases here if you search for "ISO".

I have now picked one (Friend Request) and peeked into the RAR file; there's just a seemingly regular MKV file inside:
Friend Request 2016 BluRay 1080p HEVC DD5.1-D3FiL3R.www.RapidMovieZ.com.mkv

So what does ISO stand for here (if anything)?

I suspect the author is referring to the size, being the size you would burn on a single 4.7 dvd disk
I see this a lot on torrents.

I hadn't thought of that spidapig. My guess was D3FiL3R encoded from an iso, rather than a physical bluray.

I appreciate the discussion guys, and I would like to embrace the "ISO = DVD size" explanation but while no file here marked with "(iso)" is larger than 4 GB the smallest I could see is just 825 MB, so I don't think that fits the bill.

Maybe some things need to remain a mystery...
