Hope you're still around? This (thought not this encode) was the last film I saw. While not deeply philosophical, its child-like purity and beauty have a welcomed appeasing effect. I'd love for us to have a good old film discussion. I appreciate your picks. I have a few of my own.

I had a good time watching Ashes of Time (1994) and One Fine Spring Day (2001) years ago. Good old days!
I also recommend Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (2003).

Yesterday I saw a quietly intense (only a few sentences spoken- and not between the two protagonists-) unassuming Korean film called "3-Iron" (original title "Binjip", 2004) which I think you might enjoy. I'm jotting down your (Spring themed?) entries and hope you're having a good WE!

I'm trying to remember more; I'm losing my train of thoughts between what to suggest and what we are watching here now (Halloween stuff, TBH)
I revisited The Thrid Man the other say, always impressed with the beautiful, quasi-charoscuro B&W of the city at night (clashing with the singular upbeat score!) I can never fathom the woman's POV in this -her tender vocalisations ("Poor Harry..." echo strangely when you know the type of victimizer he was!
Anyhow; do YOU watch old films? I was thinking of watching "Rashomon": have you seen it? I always wait for a perfect time to see a masterpiece, IDK why -there isn't.
To part with, a totally over-the-top comedy (I sense that you are not a "comedy man" but I'll just come out with it): "Hundreds of Beavers" (LITERAL beavers, no pun). I'll plead my case by saying: "when you expect nothing, you can be pleasantly surprised". It's a sort of re-imagining of silent movies. Fun, original

3-Iron (2004) is a good movie. I watched it several years ago. It's another movie by Kim Ki-duk. However I think he has better movies.

Rashomon (1950) is sure a masterpiece.
I have/watched a lot of older Japanese movies. Some of them are just great
I recommend all the movies by Yasujiro Ozu for now.

Thank you so much! I know OF Ozu, but am not sure I have watched him' I'll look through his titles! I am sort of a "good public" for almost anything, from "art house" to comedies; watching is a shared experience here and I don't have monopoly over the picks! The only thing I WON'T watch would be rom-coms and Super Hero movies (and even then).. But I don't know about you? Are there marked preferences and "no no"s?
